Schedule for you
02/06 Workshopt starts at 8 am but you are free to arrive at any time during the morning.
- Introduction to traditional Javanese Patterns.
- Introduction to the tools used : canting, wax, cotton.
Midday- Free time for Meal
- Draw with pencil and wax your first traditional batik on cotton.
- First layer of color and leave it dry. Use of colors ( napthol and indigo sol)
Afternoon ( the studio closes at 17:00)
Night -- Free time and dinner around the home stays.
- 03/06 Workshopt starts at 8 am but you are free to arrive at any time during the morning.
- Continue with your Traditional Batik for adding extra layer of wax
- Second layer of color
- Depending on your time and energy repeat this process one more time
- Remove wax and leave it to dry.
Midday- Free time for Meal
- I recommend start your contemporary batik in the afternoon. Introduction to contemporary and intuitive batik. Look around the gallery the samples and think about the kind of pieces that you would like to create.
Afternoon ( the studio closes at 17:00)
Night -- Free time and dinner around the home stays.
04/06 Workshopt starts at 8 am but you are free to arrive at any time during the morning.
- Create your contemprary batik with the guidance of the Mas Tatang or Mas Nur
- First layers of wax and color. Leave them to dry
- Second and third layers of wax and color. Leave them to dry
Midday- Free time for Meal
Afternoon ( the studio closes at 18:00)
- Finish your contemprary batik by removing the wax.
Note: the timing is an aproximation of what a batik studing may need to finish their batiks. It depends on the each person, the rythm and own creation process. You will have always a person in the studio to help you with the steps and the process.
